Another Bluetooth Gremlin

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Lately, whenever I've received a call in the car while paired via Bluetooth, the "nag" screen (where you have to click OK before entering Nav functions, for example) flashes, then the expected phone screen where I can answer, etc, becomes visible.

After the call terminates, the "nag" screen remains. When I click on OK, the map actually shows up.

Anyone else encounter this?

TIA.

I believe that this occurs because you are on the status page of the Media center and have not pressed okay for the nav (which has not come up because you didnt access the nav previously). For some odd reason the phone is directly linked to the nav (i assume this is because the nav can dial numbers in POI's)

This has always happened to me due to i use the status screen with mileage left as my primary media screen.

Thanks for the corroboration, guys!!

Punjab: I use the same Status display as you, but this has only started to happen lately. The first year I had this car, no such problems.

I am not sure if its related but i noticed it was happening more when i got an update on my iphone regarding to the blu-tooth, i think its a initiation string issue.

Also if you have noticed at the end of a call when using the hands free if the nav screen was not clicked ok it pops up the nav ok screen but it will go away after a few mins, however it does not revert back to the original status screen it goes to the status with climate (this is a pet peeve for me.)

How did you determine it was an "initiation string" issue?

I discovered that if you don't have one of the Bluetooth phones "approved" by Infiniti for your car (http://www.infinitiusa.com/bluetooth/), then TSB ITB09-035 explicitly tells Infiniti technicians you're "on your own".

What I've noticed is that if I'm on the Status screen and get a phone call, I click Answer, and when I hang up the nag screen is displayed. When I click OK it goes to the map. It's a little annoying, since I want it to just stay on the Status screen. I haven't noticed the nag screen flashing quickly before I click Answer though.

Almost the same for me ... I'm usually on the Status screen (showing distance to empty). When I get an incoming call, as I click "Answer" (doesn't matter which button I use), I see the nag screen flicker briefly. After my call ends, the nag screen is there and if I click "OK", it goes to the map.

This behaviour has been consistent since I replaced my Moto SLVR L7 with an LG Xenon (GR 500R). It's not a deal breaker, but certainly an annoyance.

Does everyone having this symptom have the Navigation option?

If it's related to Nav, I'm hoping if we all complain about this and we discover it's related to a bug in how Infiniti handles the Bluetooth protocol, maybe they'll upgrade our Nav at no cost!

I have Nav and the same thing happens. Again not really a deal breaker as I just hit the status button and go back but it's not really logical either.
