okay ive searched and found a couple of ways to wire the fans in, all from simple off a fuse way, to relays and what not..

i believe i read somewhere, and correct me if im wrong, that the 89-90 240sx's had a tempeture control sensor thing in the lower radiator hose

(i think i read it in sport compact car that had the first sr swap in the 240sx dont remember month/year of it)

if this is the case then couldnt you run one of the fans off of this sensor so that both kick on when it gets too hot and run the first fan off, well i suck at wiring to be honest but its just a thought!

personally since my clutch fan is on all the time i thought about hard wiring one of the fans off tha battery thru a relay so its always on and wiring the 2nd fan off a temp swtich so that both come on when it gets too warm

i didnt find anything about this searching so please help me out, i plan on getting the fans out of a 97 altima withing 2 weeks.

also why only a 97 altima???

Not exactly sure where the 97 altima comes in, mine are from a 95. Next, that was from the sohc, if you go to another parts shop like a kragens or autozone, you'll see that part listed as a "pipe" basically another pipe with a bung for a temperature sensor. Don't really need it though, you're better off using a good fan controller that's got a trigger off the cts.

having one on all the time isn't such a good idea. run a fan controller that triggers at a particular temperature.

I use the DiF Fan Controller, works great: DiF Fan Controller Install into S13 240sx.

Don't get a cheap (aka $20) fan controller that you can get @ the autoparts store, I almost overheated bcs the mechanical controller pooped out 3 times in the first 3 months when I first installed altima fans a few years back.

haha funny thing is i just found your thread on the write up of installing it and it does look easy as hell!

only question i have about it is i have a sohc, and im not shur exactly where my water temp sensor is so ill have to find that (which ill search for or look in my fsm)

one more question and then im done with this subject...the fan in front of my radiator is my a/c fan correct? since i took my a/c out is there a way to use that fan for some reason or should i just rip that out as well..

sohc temp sensor is on intake manifold near the bleeder valve.

fan in front of radiator is a/c fan. you are right. If you kept ur climate control unit, I think you can still use teh a/c fan since it runs off a relay to turn on @ certain temps & when a/c button is pressed. Cleaner to remove it, but u can still probably use it if you wanted.

so its like a 2nd fan in conjunction to my clutch fan!?? hmm well i know it would be more of a pain, but possibly cleaner...

what if i somehow set up one fan to the lower rad hose temperature gauge and have it come on at like 175 or so and then have the 2nd one hooked up to the a/c fan to come on about 190 or so....

not that im going to try it but it does sound appealing...

be cleaner, no extra parts kicking around the engie bay..all the wiring would be super hidden because the fan is right there next to both parts...can u please give your opinion on this setup broke?

The altima fans already have 2 fans, so no need for the extra a/c fan.

However, if you have the a/c fan working already as is, you can leave it, no harm really.

If you can figure out how to set the fans to come on via the lower rad hose sensor, good job! Iono how you are gonna attempt that w/o a fan controller considering the temp sensor is just a temp sensor...

Why not just leave the a/c one alone if you want to keep it & run the altima fans off a dual fan controller? greddy, hks, pivot, dif, whichever you prefer.

sorry i kinda said that wrong, what i was oringionally thinking was to run one of the altima fans off the temp sensor off the rad hose, and running the 2nd fan off the a/c fan wiring so one comes on at lower temp, other fan comes on with higher temp via a/c fan wiring AND lower rad hose

besides that i did a quick search and came to the conclusion that i still need some kinda of controller to read the temp sensor anyways so it still wont work out as good as i hoped...damn ill have to continue to think of it just to realize it wont work and just do the damn dif controller and call it a day! thanks broke for all your help!!!

so ill find a altima fan out of a junkyard within a week or 2 and then get the dif fan controller and throw it in some weekend.

Quick question. So far I have heard that the fans from a '95 to '01 altima will work, but so far all I have been able to find in my junkyard are '93 and '94 altimas. These also have the dual electric fans in them. Will these ones work in the s13? I am thinking yes, but just want to make sure before I go pull one out. Thanks.

yeah don't see why not. they're pretty much the same as the mid 90's altimas. i got maxima fans working too, but they're a bit wider than altimas and you'll be cutting stuff for a while.
