Ok i have read up everything possible on the a/c with an sr20. and i hooked everything right. the thing is when it comes on it will work great and blows cold. but when im driving and i stop at a stop sign. the engine stumbles and almost dies. as soon as load is taken off the eng the car almost dies with the a/c on. i thikn it has something to do with the IAV valve but i am not sure how to fix it. please help

I eliminated AIV however it sounds like the idle might be too low. Also you should check to be sure the BOV is adjusted right and make sure you have no vacuum leaks.

i idle around 1300.. and this problem has existed when i had a recirc valve/and still with the new BOV.

I suspect that sr20_sil80 will say the same, but thats for at least trying.. this thread had died & fast.

my idle is stock. and if everything works right it shouldnt have to be raised. i know i can raise it but i'd like to actually figure it out without raising it. i hate living in AZ with no a/c

Only issue with my ac is that it's hyper active. The compressor comes one and shuts off way more then it seems like it should.

I think the problem is in the AIC valve, usually raises idle with AC on, and somehow its not working right...

yah dislexia plagues Blue... :)

The AIV = Air injecton Valve It's the thing you plug on the O2 extension.

The IAC = Idle Air Controll Valveand FIC = Fast Idle Controll

It definately could have something to do with the IAC/FIC What? I don't know

Did you set it properly? Unplugging the TPS and all?

Often Modifications can throw your idle off some. CAI or Exhaust exc... Even Slight timing / fuel Adjustments can screw the idle all up. And the ECU is pretty good at making you think it's ideling correctly.

Start the car/ Warm it up/ Unplug the TPS and see what happens to the idle.
