I finally have the 92 240sx dohc KA in my S14. The head and intake manifold were fully ported, the head has a 3-angle valve job, and the bottom end is an OEM rebuild(9.5:1 comp. etc..). As ive read this engine is an OBD1, and mine is an OBD2. So what i did (with the advice of people here and everywhere else) is I swapped the intake mani over so the smog stuff would all match up. Plus this new engine( i blew my last one) has ALL the EGR and everything else permenantly blocked off with this wax stuff, so all the smog stuff is gone. When we swapped over the intake mani, the car wouldnt run right, we played with timing, we put bigger injectors in, and still the same problem, NO power all the way up, it goes, but not even as fast as it was stock. New plugs. So i was thinking about puttin the hedder on that came with it and try and make the intake manifold that is ported work on it, like it was intended. Should, or could i, swap a 92 ECU into the car, or put a standalone system in, what should i do, everyhting so far will not work!! All the mechanics there think that the stock intake mani doesnt match the porting in the head, so thats why it isnt working, its also VERY VERY LOUD, like an exhaust leak on crack!!!

Somebody please help me, here is what i bought in this link

thanks, bryan

So noone has any ideas what i should do??? I guess ill just hook up the 92 external coil distributor, the 92 intake mani, an MSD ignition, and a standalone ECU. That should take care of ALL problems....I hope...

A lrighty then... this is what i am going to do, if someone objects( this only works if someone is reading this) then tell me so. I am going to buy the MSD SCI ignition system, and the Super AFC2 piggy back, i might have to get a 92 ECU first, then put the piggy back and ignition on there.

As long as you are using your original S14 wiring harness and ECU, it should be perfectly fine... unless the motor was ****ered beforehand...

KA24DEs are the most annoying motors ever created. I put one out of a '95 240 in my '89 and it just wouldn't start for no apperent reason... Then one day it worked.

LOL, i think we figured it all out, it might be the cam timing, the engine is supposedly built really nice( the guy i bought it off of keeps reassuring me that it will work if its tuned right, and the mechanics at the shop are really impressed with the work that was done to the head and the manifold. im also`m3
