Hi,

1) How does one set the default area or city on the Nav System?

2) Does the map get auto-updated? If not, how does one update it? Does that cost extra?

Thanx

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Murano Forum! Glad to have you as a member of NICOclub!

1) Hit the DEST button (destination), here you can set your region, and also your "HOME" address.

2) No, the map DOES NOT get auto-updated, however, you can purchase updates at http://www.zenrin.com

At this time there is NO update available.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Happy Holidays !!!

Thanx for the prompt reply. Appreciate it.

Regarding map update, well, that's a bummer (among the other ones I found out about, after leasing my Murano SL 2009).

My brother just bought a 2.5L Altima and we are comparing features. His Nav map is upgradable by way of a DVD based CD system. When an update becomes available for the 2009 Murano how will we update the map? Will we use numerous CDs or does our Murano read the map DVDs?

Good question, and I am not sure of the answer. Both my Armada and my Murano have the new Hard Drive Navigation. I believe there will be a download, possibly to the Compact Flash Card, not sure though, we will have to wait until there is a download available to see how this all works.

I may be wrong here but from what I understand the Nav software resides on the hard drive and the update must be done by the dealer using Consult III. The software upgrade is around $180. I'm not sure if there are any additional labor charges involved.

My AV unit has the station scrolling bug. I've been wating for the NAV update to come out to have the unit replaced in the hopes that I may get the update at no charge. I asked the service manager about this and she felt there was a good possibility I'd get the latest software with the replacement AV unit....keeping my fingers crossed.
