So, this lovely saturday, another Q died. My 93' maroon tan/tan baby was tagged by some *#*$ who decided to pass me while i was making a left hand turn. at first glance it only looks like it need a fender, bumper and headlight. yeah... the radiator support is kicked over about 2 inches, and the inner structure under the strut tower is nice and twisted. A piece is missing out of my rim, and something steering wise is messed up. the tires are both toed in a lot. also the radiator is gone. Everybody watch out. these things die in packs. adjuster is coming tomorrow to tell me what i already know. its totaled. guess im on the lookout for another, or maby this is a sign to get a gas saver 4 now. another Q later. who knows.

Before you commit to that urban sardine can, think how it and you might have fared in the same collision.

Glad you are fine.

thanks everybody. im not sure what im looking for right now. that car is not fixable, salvaged or not. but its an amazing parts car. interior is perfect. motor strong. i could buy a straight shell and built from there. but i dont know if i can afford that. damn gas. still waiting 4 police report. everyone knows our legal system. guilty until proven innocent.

Any body have a first gen Q thats empty? A straight body? but completly gutted? or crap interior?

Gotta love maxnix's commentary. Hes ALL about Q45s... which works for me its my favorite car.

Hey youngq45r. I have for sale a 1993 Q45 JDM motor... black w/tan interior. Interior is showing its age (front seats have tears), outside looks like a clean, nice car. The engine/trans run great but the fuel pump just went out 2 weeks ago.

If you wanna check it out say something ASAP. I am here in SAC/ELK GROVE TONIGHT and TOMORROW only to replace the pump and drive it home to the bay area.

EDIT: o forgot to mention... its clean title baby!! no accidents/dents, and paint is in excellent condition.

Failure to do it slow and easy with extreme care often results in a miscalibration of gas level gauge at the MINIMUM.

Failure to spend time examining tank bottom and cleaning out water/rust in sock bucket often results in extremely short life of replacement pump.

On my personal Q I use [grounded] old pump to suck system dry and flush lines [loop back after old filter to return with concentrated solvent BG44k. Kinda like a transmission flush for fuel system. What's an extra hour or two if it prolongs the replacement interval...................I learned the hard way back in 1999 when I destroyed pump #2 in 1 year and 29k from failure to clean tank.

If you want to get as orginal pump life you must make sure the entire system is clean as new before exposing the replacement pump to previous dirt.

Sorry to hear bout the car. I've had a couple of accidents in mine - not my fault, the most recent was an off duty cop...somehow they couldn't find a reaason to fault either of us...

I've been dying to find a few parts for my 93...

If you've still got it and are going to part is out, let me know.

I'm looking for the exhaust, at least the catalytic converters and some ac parts too.

Good luck,

Jason
