I'm rooting for ANON. Yes, WBC isn't doing anything illegal but in this case moral obligation should be higher than the law. Again I say in this case! And what I hate the most is that the WBC is using religion to back up their hatred and intolerance of their fellow man.

I believe in God and Christ but I do NOT at all want to be known as a christian any more. I hate this organized religion and I am starting to see why the rest of the world does as well. Christianity should NOT involve hatred of others and it should NOT involve spouting Bible verses as if they mean something they certainly do not because they are taken way out of context. what I was saying is that Jesus never said it in the condescending nature that exuberant people use today. The hellfire, brimstone speeches. Texts actually Jesus as more of a philosopher and teacher. Texts outside the Bible that were found, but condemned by the Catholic church (who rewrote the Bible, in my personal opinion, to profit themselves) show that Jesus had a whole separate life that isn't mentioned outside the Bible.

I'm just bothered by the single mindedness of these people and ruling out the thought that religion should be more accepting of people and their beliefs.

Go and read your bible again, because he did go into those kind of speeches. I am not religious, but I did have to read that stuff every day when I was a kid. He did talk about hell a lot and what it takes to get there. Condescending attitude is all in how you take it personally.

I meant in the gospels while Jesus was on Earth teaching. Revelations is basically the book of the Apocalypse. I remember all of the end of times stuff there. But for anyone to take only Revelations and preach that is like teaching people the letters xyz and saying they learned the whole alphabet.

Basically leaves out all the forgiveness, acceptance, and love stuff that the WBC doesn't find important. I mean did they forget that Jesus spent most of his preaching life talking to prostitutes, thieves, and the sick and dying without hatred or anger in his words.

Fred Phelps and his children thrive on media coverage. And our press outlets just keep on giving it to him. The soonerthe press stops giving him so many opportunities to vent his hate, the sooner he'll quickly fade away into obscurity. Exactly correct. The point is that these "quotes" are in the bible, so any one of these bat-s*** insane groups can take "XYZ" and preach it as the word of God. All of these groups take things out of context (implying that any of the bible is truth) and manipulate it however they need to to get their point across (LOL, get it? A-Cross?)

Moral of the story: Believe in what you want or who you want....just keep it to yourself.

Side note: I have posted before about the WBC protesting a funeral that I attended a couple of years ago. The BCPD handled them beautifully. They sectioned off a place where they could have their "protest," and didn't let a single news camera near them or let any attendees within a half block of them. Guess what happened...they left in 15 mins. All that these h0m0s crave is attention...they do not deserve it. Anon taking the high road is commendable, and frankly, the right move. Why give this group any more press (or possible money) with lawsuits and such?
