annual flush

just got my Q from my tech. i had the trans flushed with the bg machine & the bg syn fluid installed. what a difference that made. previously with the dino fluid (chevron) there was the ususal 1/2 firm shift then a muddy 2/3 shift then an unnoticible 3/4 shift. now i need to watch the tach to tell the shift points (normal driving). even the torque con. lockup is unnoticible. on hard accel. it shifts sooooo smooth. definetly worth the $200. highly recomended.

I also had a transmission flush done last week. I've been draining and refilling with each oil change and finally put out the $200 for a chemical flush and fluid exchange to Valvoline synthetic. Also dropped the pan and changed the filter. The (minor) rough shift from 1>2 gear is gone and no more slipping between the other gears. Money well spent if it extends the life of the transmission.

Hey, I just got my transmission replaced on my 94 Q. The new one has 71k miles on it and does shift hard between second and third.

Question: Are you saying that if I change the brand new transmission fluid that I have in my transmission with high end fluid that it will do away with that rough shift? Also, will that rough shift between 2/3 damage the transmission? Thanks

Are you getting any Transmission Malfunction errors?

FWIW, I was told by a knowledgable transmission man that if the clutch plate materials aren't specifically designed for synth transmission fluid, you're not really getting the benefit of synth ATF???
