Last weekend, my dad and I went on our annual camping/fishing trip to close out the summer. Didn't really catch anything substantial as far as fish goes, but we still had loads of fun.

Dinner the first night

Steak was awesome

The moon was awesome! (Thats a 15 second shutter speed)

There were also some HUGE flies there.

This was near the pier that all the fishing took place.

Here's a picture of the good ol' Dakota

This was taken on the last day we stayed there:

On the way back home, we noticed a small Aviation Museum, so we stopped in to check it out. One of the coolest free museums I've been to.

Inside, they had this huge model of an aircraft carrier

heres a shot from one of their smaller models

Some pilot gear

And then we found a room full of engines

I decided to hold off on the KA-T plans and swap one of these into my car.

I was staring at it for a good 5 minuets, and I still don't completely understand how it works
Image

They had this mock cockpit that you could get into....if you weighed less than 100lbs

Some UAVs

One of my favorite planes

And then we walked outside and found a bunch of planes

This thing looked like a great white

Powered by Rolls Royce??? I had no idea

The biggest helicopter I've ever seen

The bio said this jet was built in the 50's, that was kind of hard to believe for some reason

The hornet, another one of my favorite planes

This helicopter was awesome!

This is the exhaust I'm getting for that swap I was talking about earlier.

These folding wings were pretty awesome to look at

And while filling up gas after we left the museum, I spotted this:

CLEAN, inside and out. The owner was an older gentlemen, nice guy. I gave him a NICO card and told him we'd love for him to check us out.

OH, and vote for LOLLAR LAWL.

I wish that was his first name, and Skate was his last.

Rolls has a long history of aircraft engine production. Early P51s were Rolls Royce Merlin-powered, before moving to Allison power later on.

Yea, it was sick! The museum is in Lexington Park, MD. It a tiny place that you wouldn't expect to be much, but you go inside and its filled with cool stuff.

Thats interesting. The only car manufacturers that had roots in aviation that I knew were BMW and SAAB.

Ack, mosquito country. Every time I go to St. Mary's I feel like I'm going to get malaria...

Didn't the Ford Mustang use the engine from that at one time? Or maybe I'm just being silly?
