I have a 2008 Pathfinder that has a squeak that sounds like it is coming from the passenger dash area. I don't always hear it when I drive over bumps, but it is more pronounced at low speeds. I can hear it with the engine off in the drive way when I close either front doors. However, it does not come from the doors. I had my son listen while closing the doors and he said it seemed to originate from the engine compartment. Today I noticed it while in slow heavy traffic on a concrete highway driving at an angle over expansion joints. The right tire hit the expansion joint first and the sound occurred. Then the left tire hit the joint and the sound did not occur. When both tires hit the joints at the same time, no sound occurred at times, but other times it did.

The squeak is rather noisy and makes the vehicle feel cheap. I already made a minor adjustment to the hood latch bumper to eliminate one of the squeaks.

It sounds like the passenger's side sway bar link either needs grease or needs to be replaced. I don't know if the links you have are greaseable (if they are, they'll have zerk fittings) but my guess is no. It's also possible it's just a bushing that's shot.

Get it checked out soon, regardless. If it ends up being something like a tie rod or ball joint it's a huge safety issue. It probably won't be expensive to get it taken care of. If you're up for checking it out yourself, I can give you some tips on what to look for.
