ANNOYING SCHREECHING SOUND!!

Hello, recently i started my 2005 nissan maxima and i heard an extremely annoying screeching sound coming from underneath the hood!! What in the world could this possibly be.?

Most likly you have a loose fan belt. Get out the FSM and check / tighten as instructed.

Check the belt as if it has been slipping it will probably be glased over and need replacement.

If none of the above fix the noise then check your idler pullys

Hello, Your concern is too vague. Most popular noise is belts. Because of percarious routing the belts crack much faster than what they should.My recommendation if belts are ruled out, test with stethascope in such locations as the alternator idler pully and A/C compressor clutch.Thank YouMike---
