First, the annoying problem: the **blankety blank** ignition key and the push-button lock that holds the key in the ignition. It works about 30% of the time. The other 70% of the time I am having to bang the steering column, turn the engine back on, curse at it, etc. Tell me guys, what's the solution? New ignition assembly? One out of an S14?? Way to bypass the annoying push button???

On to the WTB items, spelled out here: zer...d=202 It's time to do the coupe door swap. I am sick and tired of the huge blind spot to my left, and the seat belt not retracting. I also hope to find MINT coupe door panels. I also need five-lug hubs/spindles. Finally, anyone with an AC controller that actually lights up at night, and wants to sell for cheap?

God, this vert is a mess. About half the crap doesn't work, incluidng the odometer about half the time.

Help a brother out!

What's the issue with the ignition and button? It locking an not allowing you to press it in to get the key out?

If so, it has to due with the sensor on it that senses the car is in park. You can disconnect that, just take the column cover off and there's a connector that runs to it, just disconnect it. Has to be done when doing 5-speed swaps.

Mine works about 50% of the time. You don't have to turn on the ignition. Just slight touch to shift knob should work. There's a metal rod connect to the bottom of shift knob and that's what locks the key inside.

Same here, shove the shifter further into park and key comes out just fine. I ususally just slam my hand into the shifter.

lol, if the ac doesn't light up it's out of freon 90% of the time, if its not blowing cold that would be your sign. But maybe led is out, in which case it's not so hard to replace. just take the unit apart and solder a new one in from the radio shack if they haven't replaced those with cell phones like in the one near me.

Remove ashtray and push center cover piece from the back and you will have a access to ac control unit(4 screws IIRC). Cover is a clip on. Just pull ac unit out and replace bulbs. One thing to be careful. There's a metal wire attached to the back of the unit and it's bit hard to work with, but you will figure it out.

I have the same issue with the button. Half the time I need to move the shifter slightly.

Scott, you can use hatch door panels as well as coupe. I believe they are the same part.
