does anyone know how to disable that silly (silly to me) little beam of light that shines down on the front cupholders in the FGY33 when driving at night? seems to me I'd have to take out the whole sunroof switch/maplight cluster to do it than just be able to pull a fuse....anybody have any idea?? Thanks.

Simple to just cover it with a tiny dab of black touch-up paint, or even a small piece of electrical tape.

I didn't like it at first but I have gown to like it over the years. Makes it easier to find stuff in the car while drivng in the dark. How long have you had it? See if you can used to it.

I've been thinking about replacing the bulb in mine with one of those tri-color LEDs that changes colors randomly - Would give the whole console sort of a 70's-era Lava Lamp motif... Image

We recently rented a Ford Escape for a 3000 mile road trip (needed more room than the G or Q) that had LED lighting all over the interior - cup holders, footwells, shining down. I think you could select about 7 different colors. It was fun entertaining my 2 year old having him name the colors - especially when he sad "turquoise" on one of them (and was right!) when I would have expected him to just say blue. I still don't know where he got that one...

Actually, it can be switched off. But I like it.
