So first off I have an S14 (1995). When I change the tempurature of the air from the fans, ac, or whatever with that slider thing I hear this clicking noise from inside my dash. Someone before said it is probably plastic gears that have worne down and are slipping.

Anyone know anything about this?

I don't really want to rip my dash out to try and fix something I don't even know what it is.

Mine does the same exact thing whenever I change the vents to like floor or defrost.

Yeah mine doesn't do it if I keep the Floor/Defrost button pressed.

To me it sounds like it is coming from the middle of the dash and in the back more, like close to the firewall.

Also it doesn't do it when I change where the air is coming from, only when I change the air temperature.

I will look on alldata tomorow at work and check man. The one on mine that was messed up, kept sticking in defrost. If I remember right the heat/cold deal is cable operated, and then uses a electric signal to turn on the compressor. The cable opens and closes a door (partial split or full heat or cool) and the blend door moves in different directions to determine air flow. Sorta like this|\ __ / different angles to determine how the air is directed.

yours has a power servo for the air mix door, and it looks like vacum actuator for the rest.

I wish my scanner worked and I would just post you a picture. Sorry again man.
