I'm sure that many of you have noticed the lack of staying "on topic" in many of the threads. Not only is this disrespectful to the person who started the thread, but also to others in the future who may want information later, and all they do is weed through a bunch of jibber jabber...

I cant expect everyone to get along, however sometimes you'd think you're messing with a bunch of sorority girls the way people talk to each other... In a private conversation with another member, he referred to it as "herding cats"...

So, with that being said, here is the way its going to be

1. Any personal attacks or posts not relevant to the thread topic are subject to being deleted.2. Further offenses may result in being banned3. Any decisions will be made by the discretion of the NICO moderator team.

Other things: If you think you're being singled out, that means you probably are right... If you dont like this, or you think we are not giving you your "freedom of speech", tough luck because this is a privately owned forum, and you can leave and go somewhere else...

I want to run the best Q45 forum in the world, and the information is here, and the knowledgeable people are here, but for some reason they think that fighting with someone over the internet is going to get them somewhere.

So if you think about posting a personal remark, for my sake, please don't do it so I dont have to delete it. im gonna have a *lot* of free time in the coming weeks!

Wes,I would assume that the deletions are similar to the ones the qship96 recieves when he posts on the M site?

qship96 is using the nico webmaster to send the following email. since, in fact nico is a private company, I'm sure Greg doesn't want this crap going on under the table either.

The following email was just sent to me thru NICO webmaster by qship96 at 3:05. That would be thirty minutes AFTER he read Wes' rules and posted his reply; and more than 1 hour after wes's post:

Let it go, let it go , let it go............ Mcscrews, you are acting in a very disturbing manner........put the eggnog and pipe down and just say no!!!There are plenty of AA and NA meetings during the holidays,I suggest you attend one.

My post name is Mcrews and my full name is Mark John Crews.Anything addressed differently is a personal attack thru NICO.

Mr. Crews is a little high strung, he has been fighting with other members in every new thread that I have seen and seems to have ignored what you just said. He also has the audacity to posture a lawsuit in this thread? I vote he be banned. I appreciate your effort Wes as I grow tired of the child-like behavior myself. I did searches for about 6 months and almost totally restored my Q before I became a member out of respect. Its the same respect that holds me back from tearing into any of these t-bags that stumble into this site and run their mouths....

Why can you get away with posting emails and we can't?

If I could then I am sure you would be embarrassed to say the least.

But one thing is true Mark, Qship96 has been here longer than you and contributed more than YOU!!!

I don't know WTF this jibberish about "webmaster emails" is about, but so far, everyone in this thread is on my radar, and the next snippyass post I read is gonna result in a ban.

We're in the middle of a TON of work trying to update the forums, and neither I NOR my staff has time to deal with this bullcrap.

Grow the hell up or get out. Simple as that.

With that, I'd like to thank Wes for all his hard work in here - There's no place with more good Q45 information than here, and if you can't think twice before posting something idiotic, you run the risk of not being able to participate.

Back to your regularly-scheduled programming....

Thanks.

I'd ask everyone to help be "part of the solution".

Keep in mind, we can always focus our efforts for expansion and involvement on a different, more hassle-free part of the forum.

Let's not let that happen in Q45.

I find it mind boggling that in the thread that I posted, TELLING PEOPLE NOT TO POST PERSONAL ATTACKS, people go and post personal attacks? Last time i checked, if you call out names, THEN its personal...

The Q45 forum, in my opinion, has the best concentration of knowledge and knowledgeable people, of about ANY internet forum Ive seen for ANY vehicle...

I am not trying to bring anyone down or call anyone out, its pretty simple.... if you dont want to play by my rules, go find another forum.

I agree, this is hands down the most informative place for Q owners to keep their old cars on the road.....it certainly is a major factor in my continued ownership of my Q!!!!!

for the record, when mark said he was getting emails from the webmaster account, he was referring to the emails he got from people responding to the posts, automatically sent out by the forum, which actually is [email protected] . Im not taking sides, but also case in point that you need to have your facts straight when calling someone out, anecdotal because it wont happen anymore..

I'll accept that as an apology for calling me a 'flat out liar' a banable offense, since that is EXACTLY what qship wrote. EXACTLY

So 1. the email was IN FACT sent. 2. EVERYONE on the post saw it in their own mail3 and pretended it never happened.4. And did their little tale between their leg "gosh I'm innocent" act.

Mark -

You need to re-read what Wes wrote.

No one can send you an email from MY webmaster account. You got a NOTIFICATION of a reply to a thread, wherein someone may have posted something.

No one else got it in their email unless they are SUBSCRIBED to the thread.

I'm not sure who's putting on an "act" in your opinion, but I think you need to understand that what you THINK you received and what you ACTUALLY RECEIVED are two different things.

I'm seriously weary of all this juvenile bickering, so whatever the hell the problem is between you two, you'd BOTH better figure out a way to hammer it out, or I will.

Mcrews,

Let me expand on Greg's explanation... Under "options" to the right of the reply or new post text box where you type in a post, you can check a box that says "Email me all replies to this topic"

Either you checked this box or set something up in your profile to automaticaly email thread responses to you. That's what you got from the "[email protected]" address - not something directly sent to you from another member via some sort of backdoor message system in NICO. Unlike many other forums, NICO has blocked "private messages" because we try to keep conversations public to encourage discussion and learning among all members.

The "notify me" option is simply an automated email generator that's particularly useful if you want to see replies to a thread you don't monitor frequently... like a classified ad.

Thank You Heath and Greg and Wes {woo, the list keeps growing!} for explaining to MCrew how NICO works, hopefully he now understands that I did not "send" him ANYTHING..........Lets LET IT GO.....and moderators please consider locking this thread so we can all move FORWARD into the new year without any further nonsense

I'm sorry buddy but #1 isn't working with the personal attacks. You have been doing that since I've joined the site and it hasn't helped yet. You might need to put your #2 as #1. After maxnix was banned and since he was allowed back, I haven't seen any smart remarks from him, just good info as of late. People learn by example...not by just deleting a bad post IMHO.

You can go away just as easily.

I thought I made myself clear above, apparently you didn't read it very well.

Your suggestions are unnecessary, we have competent staff for that.

I have to say that I pretty much left the forum due to the rather impolite manner with which a few members who may or may not have been mentioned above had conducted themselves in response to my postings. I'm glad to hear there may be some improvements, and will be careful not to stoke the fires myself.

Welcome back, Josh...

Feel free to contact a Moderator or Administrator any time you see stuff like that. We don't always catch it, but I think we do a pretty good job.

This forum exists to serve the members, not to stroke anyone's ego or provide a place for bullies to lip off.

Good to see you back.
