This reminds me of a story. A story of a road trip I took one time.
I was a young lad with the world in front of me. One day I decided that I was going to go on sabbatical. I was stressed out from work and I had to take a relaxing drive somewhere. Somewhere I hadn't been. Somewhere exciting! Somewhere different.
I set foot into my garage, and tried to figure out which of my several cars (the world was in front of me, mind you - I have many cars) I would drive on such an adventure. Of course, I could only choose from one of several Nissan cars due to my stubborn loyalty to the brand, which was supplemented to my employment to the Interweb Car Enthusiast Juggernaut known to many as NICO, and known to others as the "cool car story, bro" police.
I decided I would choose my 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R as my journeymaker of choice. On it, I had a crazy license plate of some sort about irritable evolutionary predecessors of some type. I cannot remember, and it may very well be irrelevant to the story. I digress.
I sat in the driver's seat (on the right side of the car, as my vehicle was fully and hellaciously JDM). I decided, on such a sabbatical, I may get lonely. I may not find the clarity I was searching for without some guidance. I reached into my pocket...
My iPhone! Surely, Siri would have an answer to all my questions! I decided to ask, "Siri, take me to a place where I can feel comfortable. Where everybody knows your name. And they're always glad you came. Where they'll give you the shirts off their backs in the event you may need one."
Siri replied, "You can always go to Thayer, Missouri."
I replied to Siri, "Siri, exactly where in the blueberry f*** muffins is Thayer, Missouri?"
Siri replied, "There is an IHOP located inside the city limits of Thayer, Missouri. I will set your GPS for that destination."
So off I went to Thayer, Missouri. I traveled about 4 hours to the town. Once I arrived, I drove around town for a minute. Cracked the windows, smelled the air, saw all three sights there was to see.
Upon my arrival, I saw many fellow Nissan drivers look my way, as I fully expected. As the fully JDM R-chassis I was piloting was obviously superior to the many S-chassis (both hierarchically and alphabetically, as fate would have it), it made total sense that the 240 meet in town would be studying every curve, color, body rivet, and license plate detail of my vehicle.
It was then I met the clarity I was searching for ...
There isn't a goddamn thing in Thayer, Missouri. I should probably go back home, punch Siri in the face, and use Google Maps to plan my next sabbatical.
OP - I hope my story has answered all of your questions. May the internet gods have mercy on your soul.
