The airbag light is blinking and I tried the how to on turning it off and it worked for a while, but now its back and it won't turn off no matter what i do. And a friend of mine told me that i can not pass smog with any lights blinking or trouble codes. If I get in there with an OBDII scanner can I delete/reset that light and keep it from coming back? I refuse to pay $597 dollars on some stupid airbag part that doesn't do anything except make money for the dealership.

Not sure about the emission stuff but I had to have mine replaced. I have heard that this was a recall issue at the time so if you are less then 70K on the vehicle, it may be covered by warrenty. I replaced mine at 76k so payed the full price so you may want to check.

I did a search, and did not come up with anything for an air bag recall on your car. It could possibly be a bad connection, or it could be a faulty air bag (which I find unlikely).

Try pulling your codes ( http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html ), and see if anything comes up.
