So I recently purchased an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S III) and can not get the car to recognize it for music. I have a 2012 G37x Sedan and when I attach via USB, I get the "Check Connected Device" message. On the phone, it says it is connected via Media Device (MTP).

I did some searching around the net and can't seem to find any instructions for making this work. Does anyone have an Android phone working via USB? If so, how?

Thanks!

After some additional searching, it appears the Samsung Galaxy S3 (it seems most Android phones that are ICS or version 4.0 or later) use something called MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) versus UMS (USB Mass Storage) which was used on pre-ICS versions. I tried rooting my phone and using the "SGS3 Easy UMS" app which switches the phone back to UMS mode, but I still get the same error on the car. The Samsung SG3 is a great phone otherwise. My car is brand new and I fear I may need to return the phone so I can get music back to the car (streaming via spotify, primarily).

Anyone else having this problem?

Cant you just run it throught the 3.5 audio Jack? Or is there no AUX in on the 12 G37's
