I have always like helicopters more than planes. When I hit the mega millions, I will be buying one.

Not to sound like a recruiter, but it worked out pretty good for me, and I'm not exactly the toughest person on the planet. There are plenty of jobs you can have in the USAF, from working in the clinic to being a network engineer like myself. Military service looks excellent on a resume (I've yet to be passed up on any job I've ever applied for, and I also have folks constantly calling me and offering me a job), it's a great way to get your foot into a career field that is difficult to get into in the civilian sector.

When in high school, I joined the Civil Air Patrol. Pretty cool... we got into all the air shows for free, had great access to the aircraft and the pilots. Oh yeah, flying lessons - we were pretty lucky at our Det. I split the cost of the fuel with the pilot and we flew his plane. Even though I did not pursue the license, just flying all over Southern California with my hand on the controls was worth it. I ended up doing 22 years in the Air Force. Got a wife, four kids and house to show for it - and a great job post retirement.

PS: the Blues rock! I'd rather watch them than any other team.

PPS: Love the pic with you and the Dauntless dive b0mber. Thanks for sharing!

Like I said, worked out great for me. I have an awesome job where I travel around the whole world, I've never seen my boss and I have a full expense acct and new rental car each week to drive while I'm home during the weekend.
