I want a ZL1 pretty damn badly. It's absolutely amazing. The wife hates Camaros. Ugh. hahaha perhaps I find a way to take her on a test drive.

If the new ZL1 is anything like the one it replaces, my guess is she won't like it as a passenger. Visibility sucks. I have a friend who just bought one, but it'll probably be November til I catch a ride in it.

Oh boy, I look forward to watching this. BTW, if you're up to it, you might watch one of my other favorite laps at the ring. Look for Hans Stuck Nurbergring and watch the bimmer (with sound of course). It really gets my heart rate up! Another fun one is Sabine in the Transit Van beating/ challenging Clarksons time.

Fwiw, my Camaro friend usually has a go-pro on, so if he brings his new 1LE to VIR this fall instead of his Z/28, I'm sure our run together will end up on youtube. He's been turning 2:10 laps in the Z/28 on the full course with a manpedal (pretty darn quick), the 1LE has flappy paddles, so he should be a little quicker. He's a good driver, so we'll see.

Saw that the other day. Great lap. You're right about the pucker moments. I was told the guy driving was a 70yr old test driver for GM. Not sure if it's true or not.

Indeed! I would prefer to keep both hands on the steering wheel at those speeds.

Must be some good steering response/ feedback in this model to feel confident in one handed steering at such speed. That's a good thing!
