This Rogue Sport rolled in on a hook yesterday. Three other techs looked at it before it got to my bay. Backstory is, it's a Harry Backyard job, he was installing some sort of accessory and the car wouldn't wake up after the installation. Stipulated that all the fuses and fusible links are visually okay. First person to spot the problem gets the VStar Day After Humpday Kudos Award:

What is that black cable running across the battery?
Dead battery? Where is the MAF after the filter?

I was wondering about that too. Also @VStar, was the the manifold leading to the air filter already missing when you got the car?

Yah, Harry took all that crap loose except for the front air duct and the cover from the Fuse & Relay Box, we took those off. Since y'all seem to need a hint. here it is: What black wire?

The one attached to the right side (in picture) battery post , and routed around the battery strap towards the radiator's area .

DING DING DING, we have a winner!

The cable is stuck underneath the battery. Harry knocked it there when yanking the battery out and forgot it existed. His car, however, didn't forget.

Just the looking at that air filter gives me anxiety and confirms that my over maintenance of my cars is a good thing.

Not as bad as the woman who drove an R52 Pathy 38K without an oil change because no one in Sales told her it needed one (and then wanted Nissan to pay for a new engine). But yah, if a car could barf, I'm sure this poor critter would.
