So I've been looking to get out fo the V8 Q45 and into something smaller. On top of that, a friend of mine was T-boned in his S14 and was harassing me to buy it. But I needed to find a suitable replacement. The problem with that is I'm picky and what I like isn't frequently available in my price range. So I was looking around, convinced I'd end up in a Maxima, but I really wanted a RWD. Then I found an add on cragslist, 102km S13 Coupe Auto that needed an engine.

This is 240SX #5. The preceding were an 89 S13 Hatch, 95 S14 SE, 89 S13 Hatch, and 95 S14 SE. I'm excited to have my first coupe, but the HUD dash trips me out. It's an odd dash of unfamiliarity in an otherwise very familiar interior.

Someone did this weird thing with the taillights and some pin striping. I'll probably take it off one day.

The sad part was he had just rolled 200km, and to celebrate, put a 60kj mile S14 engine in it, and rebuilt his transmission with new bearings and syncros. In the end, it works out for me, as I bought the car off him in part trade for the Q. I took the drivetrain and the 5spd swap, and traded the rest of the car to a friend to do the swap for me. I pick it up from the shop tomorrow. I'm hoping it was worth all the effort.

It's nice, but the underside is soft. It doesn't meet my exacting standards so I'm going to drive ti till I can get a replacement. The engine is FANTASTIC. Hands down the best stock KA i've driven.

On a side note, does anyone know if the speed sensor from the s13 auto will bolt into the s14 manual transmission? If not, how do I source a speed sensor?

Maybe the dealer?

When I had my S13 hatch in San DIego while in the Navy, mine took a dump on me. Drove it for a few months before I finally figured out what it was (this was in 97 and the internet was still kinda new and I hadn't yet found 240sx.org) and had to order one from one of the Nissan dealers down there.

I might go for that. I'm torn between selling it whole and parting it out. What are coupe doors worth these days?

Don't think the auto S13 speed sensor will work for the 5-speed, since the 5-speed speed senors are longer.

There's a guy around me parting out a bunch of S14's, I'll see If he has one if you want.
