So now along with the engine vibration from the motor mount that came loose, now I have a metallic rattle from the bottom end. I can only usually hear it at idle and on decel...and sometimes when cruising if I am light on the throttle. It its a very light rattling sound. Its hard to determine where its coming from, but I don't like it one bit. I've only put about 5k on the motor and this develops... all new components such as oil pump, water pump, etc. It SOUNDS like a loose pulley, but its not. I checked the water pump and crank pulley thoroughly. Any ideas what it could be?

HAHAHAHA I am a ****ing IDIOT!!!!! All it was was the stupid power steering tensioner bolt. It backed out a little bit and the washer and bolt were rattling against the tensioner bracket. Delete the thread por favor.

I won't make fun, I know how possible it is for any noise to become a $1500 problem...

Normally you fix all the fuel and ignition problems, then fix some boost or AFM problems and then............ spin a main bearing :-)

Don't worry, this is not my current CA problem.

NO! Do not delete. I have the exact same rattling noise coming from the driver side under the hood. It's always good to have this type of threads, even if it's just for the fun of the most knowledgeabled ones.

Now I have to figure out what is the "power steering tensioner bolt" !

Btw, talking about power steering and such, when I spin the steering wheel I get this low tone squeaky noise, like if you were opening an old heavy wooden door. Any ideas on what should I be looking at?

either the pump needs tightened, or you need to replace the belt.

actually this is the same reason i just ulled my motor out yesterday loli dont have power steering so i dont think it would be that... i was told it was rod knock but the motor ran fine before i put it in my car. so when i pulled the motor out i went to remove the flywheel and all the bolts were hanging out lol. i could easily handtighten them back in. could it be the flywheel, rod knock, spun bearing? i dont see how a perfect motor could get a rod knock from just transferring it into another car...
