Check that out. Miata.net (a site I've been visiting since the late 90s) is having an unbelievably well-organized national convention here this week. Lots of activities, lots of people, lots of Miatas. I'm going to see if there's any free events open to the public I can go to (just to take photos and stare in jealousy).

Scenic drives, wine and beer tasting, clinics, racing, driving school, autocrossing... sounds pretty busy.

But of course, while these conventions are well done, it helps that Miata.net and the Gateway Miata Club are both sponsored by Mazda. And they have annual $25 dues, which is barely over half a tank of premium for me.

I'd gladly pay membership dues if we had more meets in my area.

Altiman, where do you live? I'm not familiar with the Miata club but it looks like fun. The Audi club that I belong to, welcomes enthusiasts with any make car and has events all over the country. There's one at Summit Point Raceway in a few weeks that I'm going to with my Nissan. Summit Point is about an hour and change west of Baltimore and WashDC for anyone that's interested.Lotsa track time, no special requirements for the driver or car, and reasonably priced.

Damn I think Nissan USA should sponsor us. We did reach the 20K member mark. Plus we're loaded with knowledgeable folks and great cars.

PS: How hadr would it be for us to get sponsored by Nissan?

I think the best part about these Mazda-sponsored clubs is their effect on owner loyalty. Few Miata owners replace their old Miatas with anything but a new Miata. There's not only an intense love and understanding for the vehicle, there's a sense of community that comes with it.

Sounds like NICO!

I'd gladly pay dues for a club like that. Of course I'd never want a miata and I'm pretty sure that then guys named sphen would be hitting on me But the clubs acticity and highly orginized meet it pretty cool

Mazda also does alot for the RX-7 community. I'm pretty sure they host Sevenstock. I need to find an organized club like that here in louisiana

Despite the high number of excessively fashionable men driving them, the Miata rocks. Its like a Lotus Elan that doesn't explode, commit suicide, or veer into ditches. I'd like one as a complement to the Q.

Same with ford, and daimler chrysler (inc. dodge). Owner loyalty rebates rock.

I'd actually like a new mazdaspeed miata...

How did i know it was going to be a Miata club lol. They are some of the most friendliest(sp?), funnest, and knowledgeable groups of people I know. It's fun to go out on a saturday morning, eat breakfast, go for a canyon run, eat lunch then finish the day off with a canyon run. Awesome fun.
