I've have been autocrossing for a couple of years, but this was my first time auto crossing a G. I was wondering has any body else done this much? I ran mine completely stock with the original tires. I was very impressed with it on normal roads, but besides being limited by the tires, the suspension was a little soft and it tended to push a bit in the corners. Since this is my DD, I don't plan on setting it up as an autocross car, but I was thinking it would of done much better with the right tires and a rear adj. swaybar.

Overall it was a blast and can't wait to get back out there next month! Here are a few pics!

Never autocrossed a G. I'd speculate ththat the G's turn-in might feel kinda slow given it's long wheelbase. I'd consider beefier sway bars as it might help quicken the chassis' response without sacrificing much of the daily comfort. I wouldn't limit it to a rear bar only though. A stiffer rear can help with balancing the vehicle, but i think you'll benefit more from quicker chassis response on a tight autocross course.

I was wondering about this very topic. I'd really like to do so, it would give me some experience manuvering the car at the limit in a safe environment.

That said, I am concerned about it's effects on my brakes and AWD system. I have a '08 G35x. There's also the concern about being identified by Infiniti and having them void the warranty. This has been a problem with a variety of manufacturers.

Tam, I think I can help you out with your concerns. I too have AWD, but did not experience any problems. I'm not going to lie to you, it will wear your brakes and tires out. One race won't, but over time, they will wear quicker because of what you are doing with the car.

To get around the warranty issue, most people register a fake name and cover up/remove your plates. To get more info, go to scca.com and go to "find a region near you. There are two or three clubs in your area. I race at the Danville airport. Your closest venue is an airport SW of Raleigh. Come check it out. Be careful... its addictive!

The Blue Ridge Region will be at Danville on May 17 and 18. Let me know if you want more info or have any other questions!

My dealership sponsers the racing and pays for it?
