analog with hud???

hi,can you use an analog cluster with a hud?? or do i have to stick with the digital cluster??

I am sure it can be done. You just have to do some research on the schematics. I plan on doing it. Just not ready yet.

ok,well i'm asking because i pulled the kade out of my last 240 and i kept the cluster to continue with the milleage,and now i'm buying a shell sunday, with hud and digital cluster.so thats why i asked

do you think it'll plug right in or will i have to do some wiring??

ok so i SEARCHED!! some and found out i need to swap out digital harness for the analog's harness, once i get that where would i plug the HUD plug into??

bump because i had this idea too. fully working hud but an analog luster would be cool to have both.

maybe you can keep the analog cluster, and i'll trade you my 100% clean black dash (non hud) for the working digi coupe gauges. ...

to maybe helpl you though... the analog and coupe gauge harnesses are slightly different. the hud usually plugs into the digi spedo and reads off that so you'd have to find a way to connect it to the spedo on the analog one and (i think) just frankenstein parts/wiring/plugs from both clusters

it sends the same speed signal i wonder if i splice the hud into the analog if it ll work? worth an off day to try.

hey, i was thinking of splicing the wires also..but i'm not sure if i should yet. because some people say it works and some people say it doesn't.. and everyone that says they have, or it does work, don't tell how to make it work..

i''m hoping someone post a DIY on this or tells how to do it

It CAN be done.... S14's in Japan came with an optional hud and all S14's are analog. You'll figure it out.
