Don't pay that much... if you're good at soldering you can usually fix the problem. (which is almost always weak solder joints on the back of the cluster) There are a lot of speedometer repair shops on the web that won't even charge half of that, do a serch for one in your area, or get the lowest price if you don't mind being without one when you ship it. I think your car will still function normally if it is MT, not sure about automatic because the speedo signal goes from the dash to the ecu (if I remember correctly). In either case don't go 100 mph plus bacause I'm not sure if the fuel cut will work properly and you won't know how much of a speeding fine you'll get so don't go fast at all.
