I was looking at the "ultra-cool" windshield-projeced HUD that can be found in some S13s and became frustrated that there was no analog speedo in the gauge cluster. I'm not so hot on electrical issues, and I don't have a car to mess with as of yet, but could it be possible to use an analog cluster along with the dash-projected windshield HUD? Maybe it'd just me, but I'd like to see it done, or be the first one to do it Either way, illuminated needles plus HUD would be TEH SECHS.... Any thoughts?

only way i can see this working is to somehow bastardize both clusters and splice the harneses together due to the fac that the hud portion actually plugs into the digital speedo part.

so what you would have to do is take both harnesses, splice them together and then run the analog cluster and hide the digital speedo portion behind it somewhere and then have the hud cable run into that.

not sure how feasable this is and if it would do sometlhing to how much current each cluster draws to keep the other from working.

Thats along the same lines I was thinking...well, I'll keep saving for the car and figure it out eventually.

Anybody else have any input?

Edit: Wait, I remember reading about a stand-alone HUD projector, I'll look into it for me and the rest of yall.

Found it! Defi's products look good, it would be easier to set up and get the same effect...Tein distributes their products, but I cannot find prices on their site...Well at least I'm one step closer to a kickass setup (on a car I don't even own yet... )
