I welcome you on the adventure of my s13 Hatch. I look forward on doing big things with this fine automobile and sharing it with you guys.

So a little bit of a run down, - i got my license in 2009 but never drove my own car till this year april-2011, My favorite car has been a white 91-93 240sx and i studied and researched the car almost religiously. It so happens i stumble across a 1991 Nissan 240sx hatchback in white. I met the first owner; a family man, and told me he wasn't a young whippersnapper like myself anymore and said he'd sell his most glorious property to me... He said he'd be going by the Blue book of Kelly. $900 bucks is what i lost, but the gain was inexplicable.

It is not a rolling chasis, it is not a handicapped mechanized POS.

Car specs
SE, SuperHicas model.
Manual transmission
viscous limited slip
ka24de
All stock from license plate to license plate everything on it is original.
mileage 72,689

My plan is to have a Natural aspirated KA-de..
My reasons are fairly simple, partly because i live in California L.A and turbos aren't too friendly with cops
I just graduated this year 2011 and i found a job that gives me decent hours, but i wont be able to pay for fines.
Legality is a priority for me.. for now. I just got this car so i dont plan on screwing up this god given gift.
Once i start messing with internals, i probably wont pass smog but my friend knows a place where... you get the idea.
slightly irrelevant: i'm not too into the hellaflush x fatlace/illest scene, just a heads up.

So yeah, 91 SX hatch :dblthumb:
My knowledge on these cars goes pretty far, but hands on experience is a little new, we'll just see how it goes.
I'll put up more detailed pics soon.
Hope you keep checking up on this shizzle, and please enjoy the ride. Thanks

A Super Hicas hatch, sweet! Those are hard to come by. My buddy has a Hicas hatch, but its not super hicas, so its hydraulically powered. All the drifter fanboys are going to tell you it sucks and to take it off. Dont listen to them. If you're into grip and cornering, that is a really good advantage. Looks like you got a great deal, the car is really clean.

The N/A KA thing is going to be tough. Its hard to make good power like that on a KA. I'm not saying its not possible, but it gets expensive. You should look into doing a stealthy turbo setup like Razi. His KA looks stock, complete with sr20 airbox.

haha everything on it is totally original, Even the clutch is from the factory.

and oh yeah i know NA ka builds are challenging, hard to just make 200hp. Might even be more difficult because i might not even do the ITB setup.
But later yeah i might think about doing a swap, My buddy has a hook up for used toyota motors, and every now and then 2jz's come in, so we might get on with one of those someday.

Welcome good sir, YOU sir seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

The car is extremely clean and very low mileage, car seems to be in great hands.

Again WELCOME!

Welcome to NICO!

Well, if you are committed to an N/A KA build, you can do it pretty cheap by mixing and matching & maximizing alot of OEM parts. Just don't expect to ever put much more than about ~175hp to the wheels before ITB's. That said, it'll be a very lively 175-ish hp with all that torque.

Pair that setup with a 4.636 final drive ratio and make smart purchases for your clutch/flywheel/driveshaft/wheels/tires and you'll be able to keep up with bone stock SR''s, maybe stock S2000's and maybe low level E36 Beemers.

It's a decent setup for a cheap & reliable drifter as long as you don't get delusions of granduer about how much power you wanna make.

Lucked out so hard on finding your 240! How did you find it???
I searched literally for a year and barely got mine for $4,000... But only had 168k on the chassis and 50k on the engine

Hey Man, Great idea keeping it N/A for now, i Believe some of the best turbo setups start off with building a proper n/a setup first and make sure everything is perfect before throwing a turbo on top of it. Always best to work out any kinks and leaks in the engine before adding boost.

Quick couple things

Everything on the car is in good condition, BUT the trunk/hatch. It was pretty rusted out because of the factory spoiler.

and when i say "pretty rusted out" i mean you could get tetanus just by looking at it.

Image

So i had to something about this problem...

Image

This is just temporary, i dont plan on keeping this trunk piece so i just wiped down the dirt and just patched the holes with duct tape, Then i put the spoiler back on to hide the shame.
I'm on a budget so i'm not taking it to a body shop, ill just find a new piece and repaint it white.

Something small i had to do

Image

Had a small oil leak, so i went to a nissan dealer and got a new gasket for $5
while i had the valve cover off, i just degreased it down so it looked presentable.

Speaking of presentable

Went to a car meet with 2 of my friends and showed off our beasts

Image

my friends have a VW type 3 fastback, and a 86' MR2 aw11. lol we don't look like much right now but just give it some time.
