It's a one of 44 car so yes, very desirable. Unfortunately at the $100K+ sale price plus the $35K for importation there's not too many people out there willing to justify that kind of money for "just a Nissan" lol. Hopefully it went to a good home.M35Squirrel wrote:Looks like a white R33 400R surfaced in an auction recently, but Rivsu didn't win that auction. That's too bad because I'm sure Rivsu wouldn't have any problem getting that 400R sold!
If you did it now, the only difference between bringing in a 400R under show or display or via registered importer like for Rivsu's LM Limited would be that you wouldn't have to do the DOT required mods like for the speedo and headlights but you'd still have to pay a bunch of money for OBD-II to be installed since the EPA exemption for vintage cars isn't in effect until the car is 21 years old - 2018 in the case of the 400R. Show or display approval means you're exempted from FMVSS requirements but not EPA. In exchange for not having to do the DOT mods you'd be restricted to driving just 2500 miles a year - which is audited periodically by DOT for compliance. Oh, and the 400R isn't yet on the show or display list so you'd have to spend the money to petition its addition and then wait months for approval.Gold Digger wrote:White 400R? That's a color I've never seen. Have seen red and yellow but that was it. White...mmmmmmmm.
I wonder if the 400R could come in under the show or display rule?
Yeah I figured because no one was able to get a hold of one to be bothered to file. Like the R34 Z-tune, it's not on the list either, even though it's the unicorn of all unicorns.GSX-R35 wrote:Oh, and the 400R isn't yet on the show or display list so you'd have to spend the money to petition its addition and then wait months for approval.
Even if I had the money, no 400R for me - never was a fan of the R33 personally. Besides, gotta save up for the R36 - if Nissan ever comes out with it lol. If they don't then I'm gonna have my brother in Oz store an R34 for meM35Squirrel wrote: Oh, by the way, I think The GTR Shop bought that white 400R. Ask Dave to store it for you for 7 years.
