An odd thing happened when I switched to Silverstar bulbs.

My high beam went out on one side so I decided to switch to Silverstars. I installed them and I like the light color, but the illumination pattern seems to have changed for the worse. Before these, I had your basic yellow halogens. One of the things I liked with the old lights was that they seemed to have a defined upper and lower line. They also lit the sidewalks and road perfectly.

With the new lights, the beam seems to be lower and narrower. Additionally, the nice upper cutoff on the light seems to be gone. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

is it possible that you pushed the lights out of adjustment when you instaled the bulbs? try adjusting the lights with the phillips screws on back of the housing its been a long time since i had silverstars but i dont remember them causing any cutoffline problems

If anything, the silverstarts should work a bit better than your old bulbs - i had them on an older car of mine and really loved them!

Double check to make sure you have the bulb seated in the housing properly - that sounds like the issue in this case.

I seem to have knocked mine out of adjustment, where are the screws to adjust the lights?

Good idea, I'll check that. The retainer rings locked in OK, but it wouldn't hurt to check.
