For those who don't want to deal with swapping output shafts and changing diff covers...

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/nc...r=361

I've used one before, and it holds up until about 500hp, or 475 tq.

a locker of this kind is basically a spool. It is used to force equal ouput by both of the rear wheels for better launches and acceleration. The idea is that the locker plates are stronger than a weld. Welded gears tend to break if you corner hard, or jolt the output shafts violently such as bouncing over a curb.

I was simply offering this up as an option for those dragracers allways complaining about the work involved in swapping to an LSD unit, or the price of purchasing an LSD Unit new and shipping it

DO NOT BUY A PHANTOM GRIP...........

I put one in and it does not work.....they sent me another to put in ......but my mechanic showed me 2 diffs that were destroyed by the phantom grip.........

I will sell my brand new replacment for $50 less than list plus shipping.....if you dare.....

Im still looking for a JDM rear end.......

Why a JDM rear end? What's the drive ratio compared to a USDM final drive?

I have no abs and i just used an s14 rear LSD, worked great, easy install. Oh my boy blew a hole in the side of his honda transmission when the phantom "slip" took a **** on him, not worth it man!

Do you have an s14?

I thought the s14 lsds were longer due to abs sensor?

I got a 95 J30 LSd that has ABS but it is like an inch or something longer.. from what I've heard, that doesn't matter, it still bolts up fine. I am going to install it this weekend and will be putting up a wrte up on the install with pictures so look out for it next week...
