I have a 1992 Infiniti G20. About 136k miles on it. Can't say if it was in the early or later half of the year...I got it used. I live in North New Jersey, so tempratures run anywhere from 4 degrees to 97 degrees F. Somewhere around the month of March, I decided to have a little fun with my car. I wanted to see how well I could control power sliding and drifting. So I drove off into a huge empty parking lot and went buck wild for about 15-20 minutes. Doing nothing more than throwing sharp turns and pulling the hand brake on occassion. Several weeks later, I started to experience a very unusual problem. Whenever my fuel tank dropped below 3/4 full, my car would have a tendency to stall on left turns. And ONLY left turns. The lower the fuel got, the more likely it was to stall. As soon as I straightened th wheel though, the engine would get it's life back, or so to speak. After a while of solid driving...no drifting or power slides...it fixed itself. However on occassion I do throw a hard left to catch a traffic light. So whenever I try to power out of a left turn, the engine more or less dies out again, until i straighten out the wheel.

WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON?!

Sounds like an issue with the fuel sending unit. I use to have a Chrysler Daytona awhile back ago, that would only stall out on left turns. When the fuel sending unit was replaced, I never had that problem again,

would it be recommended to change the entire fuel injection system?

This is a strange one.

The "sock" filter in the tank may have gotten sucked into the pickup tube and is now "doubled in" on itself??

I'd say pulling the pump might be wise.
