Well, I've been wanting to put some money into my car for a while but have had a stupid hard time to save up any money for it. So I figured i'd start with the cheapy things and got a great idea...

Why don't I use my "member rank" as my upgrades!?!

First should be strut bar, intake, and plug + wires! I could totally do 100 bucks a month.

I guess just as long as I don't post too often I won't run the risk of not saving up enough money before I get to the new rank!

I know it's kind of a pointless post but oh well.

My philosophy when building:

a) Clean. Whatever it is, do it clean.

b) Work inside out. Engine bay, suspension, interior, exterior

c) Buy Used/ Trade Used. Or barter services. Me, I visit my good friends at EngineDepot (a jdm engine importer shop in NJ - the best) every few days to lend a helping hand or just shoot bs with them. In return, I gain knowledge, friendships, and super deep discounts. Never pay retail brotha. That's for suckers.

So you have Cam's, ECU's, and bolt-ons?

Can't wait till I look stock and run 8's.

Well, I think i'll handle suspension first. those parts are old, busted, and need to go!

Tension rods and front strutty bar engine bracey thingy makes a noticeable difference? (for the amount invested)

I know everyone has different end results in mind but I bet there are a few basic upgrades that everyone does. I think it'd be cool to have several schools of thought complete with parts lists/prices and outcomes.

Totally Stock - restore your 'vert to its original condition with new/used/remanufactured parts

Street Legal Performance - inner upgrades that increase horsepower to the wheels and upgrade handling while maintaining the look of the original - a sleeper that blows away most of the ricers out there.

Drifter - All the bells and whisltes that make this car so desireable and modifyable.

I'd be in the second group and am looking at ways to at 5 hp here and 5 there plus reduce stupid weight while maintaining a stock look.

Suggestions?

If those are the 3 choices then I'm the 2nd one for now. I guess the only unstock thing you'll be able to see is that it's lowered.

But yeah, suspension, 5-spd, lsd is definately a must-do before I start saving for the elusive turbo.

What about cardboard body kit and wing? And masking tape on either side boasting that your car has V-tec and Twin Turbo. That'll be sweet. Sweeter than robot frogs dancing!
