. The Megane looks like the Versa, but the interior space difference is night and day. The Versa wins hands down there.
mm I don't think so ! remember there is two version of Megane .the HATCH that has SHORTER wb then the SEDAN in 6cm . now it's depend in your comparison - but roominess in the VERSA has been achieved in the back seat rather the front seats .. smaller front seats (narrower , ans less deeper) , also the back seat in narrower. the overall wide of the versa is 8cm less , that affect also on the backseat ..

The front seats of the Megane are bigger , I can assure that , while tthe overall space in the HATCH has less room leg in the back it still offers less crowded driver environment .

The MEGAN SEDAN version , is more like the Sentra - HOW EVER the VERSA (HATCH version ) still use it's space much clever the the CLIO III (In the dealership of RENAULT-NISSAN next to my place the CLIO III is next to the TIIDA Hatch , I might take a photo of both them side-by-side)meanwhile you can compare the whole 3 :

CLIO IIIMEGAN IITIIDA

And that's the why NISSAN suffered deficits , until few years ago.. this alliance will do NISSAN just good as well as Renualt I guess most of you in the US don't familiar with RENAULT (I admit I'm a RENAULT FREEK ) but they have great cars ' they were the first to implant CAN-BUS systems (Multiplex networking) in the cars rather to use traditional electrical wiring methods to reduce the amount in wires in the car, - this allow feature like i-keys that is avalible in Renault since 2004 ..- how ever Renault has its own illness , like very unreliable automatic gearboxes (very low demand to A/T in Europe , BUT high demand in ISRAEL) , so in the future we gonna see Renault with NISSAN's gear boxes , and NISSANs with Renault Engines (the TIIDA Diesel already has the Renault's K9K DCI engine ) and don't forget NISSAN has its expertises in 4WD that Renault hasn't at all...Must say , unlike in the US , Nissan in Israel has been sold only from 1995.. while Renault back in the 50's - BUT in the US Renault disappeared by the end of the 80's -but NISSAN brand in Israel has good reputation of reliability however GHOSN will preserve the uniqueness of every brand , we gonna see allot of surprises from this cooperation . All the F1 technology that Renault invested - we'll soon see in NISSAN as well

You are definitely more familiar with Renault than I am. The front seats of the Megane and Clio were quite comfy, I do recall. I did not compare the dimensions with the Vera/Tiida, but you may well be right about the space of the Renault bretheren. What I distinctly remember about the Renault is the backseat was tight, not so much in comparison with the Versa (Tiida, since I looked at the Renault in Japan), but with cars of those exterior dimensions in general.

You are right about the front seat comfort of Renault cars. Even in Renault 5 (aka LeCar in NA), it was rather comfortable thanks to the design of the seats I think.
