My friend has a '93 SE coupe, and his speakers are fecked up, so he bought some new ones. He bought 4's even though I knew they were too small, and later he found out for himself. Well, somehow they are in there but the sound quality SUCKS! It may be the stock HU, but its still pretty bad. He is going to get some new speakers, but one thing is still wrong. Theres this metal box, in the middle under the speakers, that seem to have something to do with the speaker sound, it makes all sort of crazy noises too. What the heck is it, and how can he remove it?

factory amp. They are junk. Someone on here did a great write up for the s13 and s14. I used the s14 one and eliminated the factory amps and my car stereo works perfect now.

well said... FACTORY AMPS. plan on bypassing them if you have an aftermarket head unit, or yeah get an s14 head unit. there are billions of write ups around NICO on it.
