So my friend James(He owns an MR2 Turbo and FC RX-7 Turbo) and I are at the mall racing on the new Initial D version 2 arcade, and this 15-16 year old kid comes up behind us and watches us play. I'm running an S14 turbo pitted against Bunta in his STI on the downhill of Akina. He's been kicking my arse for 20 minutes(I got within 75.6 meters of beating him) and this kid is mouthing off about my arcade drifting skills. Then he starts talking about how he was just in a tournament a week ago.

Well my friend and I give up the two seats for him and his friend cause it was their turn, and he picks an Integra AND races outside the car. Does pretty good against his friend. Still talking trash about how good he is. I tell him I've only raced like 3 or so times at the arcade there. He then tells me,"Oh so you haven't learned how to drift yet. That's cool". I tried to be nice with him and explain I was still finding the Rythm on Akina's Downhill and that's why I was struggling against Bunta. But I'll race him on any course he chose just to see how good he was. He lets me choose, and I pick the 2nd to last course, HAPPOGAHARA with all the crazy turns. For some reason it's my favorite and I'm pretty good at it.

He got the jump on my S14 right off the bat and had a lead for the first 20 seconds or so with me right on his tail. We started hitting heavy corners and i passed him and never looked back. With my friend James watching(he's better then I am) I proceded to give this kid the beating of his life, finishing with a lead of 550 meters. More then 200 meters then what Bunta beat me with the very first time I raced him on version 1 with my S13 Silvia.

After such an insane beating, the kid starts mouthing off about how he doesn't like the steering settings on the arcade.

I know it's not a real life situation, but I just had to share... :ylsuper

The kid had a MAJOR ego trip. He raced this friend of his who was in his 40's and never raced the game before just because he knew he could win. I introduced a friend of mine around Thanksgiving to version 1 and told him I wouldn't race him until he had figured out all the courses(like I was doing)

I rubbed it in a little bit. Maybe i'll see that kid again someday...

ya the Integra is major cheap in that game. All the time attack records are with integras. I mean come on. Do you see an Integra race at all in Initial D?

I only remember seeing an EG6 representing the FF cars.

Oh well. I still like my S14 in v2 and S13 in v1 :ylsuper

Well the night I took my friend to play version 1, it was the night before Thanksgiving and the game was free! It asked for like 1 token every 6-8 races. So we played for 3 and a half freaking hours!(only cost me like 2 bucks in tokens).

So when I said I'd only been playing like 3 times, one of those times I played for a hella long time. I've beaten both versions except for Bunta, and have been wittling away at him in the Legend of Bunta series on Akina(got 6 stars so far)

I can't find my rythm tho on that course. I never use the mini maps(I should just do the paper cup thing) and go on instinct. I have the one course I raced that kid on down cold. But Akina still has me thrown off a bit

Normally that's the cost here too. But for whatever reason that day it wasn't needing tokens..

Trust me I was living it up. And there was NOBODY there so I didn't have to give up my seat.

The end of the night my back wish I had though...

that was hilariou, but I think I have a betta story.

My friend and I went to this arcade place to play the Initial D V2 cuz it was pretty new there. Both of us sux arse big time b/c this is the first time we play the game. This fat guy came up and wanted to play and since I sux in that game I got up and let him willingly. He then took tokens out of his pockets and some racing gloves. He put them on like it was in some anime. I knew he was good since the I'm-a-loser-that spend-all-my-time-in-this-arcade-after-my-mom-dropped-me-off-in-her-camry auro was burning around him. I let my friend challenged him even though we know we'll die anyway. He let my friend start first and cracked his knuckles and neck while my friend was playing. He beat the **** out of my friend but geezzz I thought idiots like him only exist in TV.

Another time I was playing Initial D with a rx-7 FD auto cuz it doesn't matter to me, and dis two lil kids came up to me. "why r u picking that crap? and use manual man!" WTF? I'm sure as hell know that both of dem don't even have a car yet and I've driven my 5spds S13 for awhile now so I think I know how to use manual...It's just a game!

lol that's hilarious.

What would have been better is if your friend beat that guy with the gloves.

I only race manual on those games but just cause I like being able to control what gear I'm in(like IRL). I don't raz people though for doing autos.

In Initial D v2 sometimes I wish I used an auto cause some of those corners come up QUICK, and it's a biotch shifting all the time. I forget occassionally :)

Yea that sucks man Tha best racin game round here is the Ferrari 355 challenge with the 6 speed and clutch pedal. Does the V2 havd a clutch pedal? Also the only arcade we got is in the mall by the food court and it isnt too great. Kinda small.

My friend James and I have talked about buying Version 3 when it comes out but that's money that could be dumped into our cars so we shoot down the idea everytime it comes up.

Would be nice though to have your own personal version at home...

heh i haven't played initial D in a very long time i never liked playign it cuz all the really good people think they know about cars. in V2 they have boost where if u leave it on it helps the person trailing behind to catch up by giving him insanely fast speeds. Well these kids call it "turbo" im like uhhh okies o_0 and they think they're crazy cuz they have like 20 cards, lol they drive an old *** civic coupe, and a Lancer OZ MODEL!!!! WOW A lancer oz how much hp it has? like.. uhh 120? and the arcade machine cost around 8g's without shippin lol

I don't have the right kind of coordination to pull something like that off.

I'm right handed and my left arm is just there for looks. Nothing else.

I don't think I've heard of that game.

I'm still trying to drift in GT3. Might help tho if i had a wheel and pedals... I can't hardly use the ps2 controller anymore for those style games.

I use the analog sticks and a manual and I got pretty good at it, haven't done it in a while though.

i've never finished the game

got to professional then just couldn't keep up. Guess my arcade driving only works with a steering wheel and pedals :)
