Or should I just buy an unknown brand at a local auto parts store? As long as its low dust and quite, I only drive on streets. What should I look for in brake pads?

stoptech street performance pads are the best bang for the buck pads available imo I run them on both the Z and my mr2 and will on the corrado when the hawk pad's I put on it need replacing.

Don't buy AMS garbage for any part of your car, unless you like ugly black paperweights.

Stoptechs are rather dusty. I use Centric Posi-Quiets on my DD with great results. Good stopping, and very low noise and dust.

AMS pads are the worst on the market.

Still not as bad as hawk HPS which suck when they are cold.

The ST SP pads had no trouble with braking power or noise, just dusty. Like I'd clean my wheels and 100 miles of combined city/highway later they were already half grey again
