Royal purple all the way. There's another thread here too if you look around about this very subject. I remember they tested it in TPR Mag and in an old accord it even gained 5whp. I've never used it yet, but a lot of the other guys around here swear by it.

Royal Purple, I have used it and I love it. I have seen several different magazines with no affiliation with one another, and all 3 covering different kinds of vehicles do lube changes with Royal Purple and realize horsepower gains on the dyno. I am not sure about Ams oil, but to my understanding they are more race driven. Race type oils usually don't hold up to the stop and go of normal city driving, but not to sure. I will continue to use Royal Purple.

I would not pay for Royal Purple motor oil. One of my friends dyno tested Royal Purple and Valvoline Synthetic in their '98 Altima as their seinor thesis. The Valvoline made slighty more hp and torque. While magazines may claim "no bias," you simply do not get more bias free results than you do at a college lab.

did he do just the motor, or all the fluids. You can't expect to gain to much off of motor oil alone. To get the most out of Royal Purple you should change all fluids, ie. transmission, rear end as well.
