Hey guys. A few days ago I logged on to the AMS Motorsports website to order some new parts. I placed the order and days later AMS still has it as processing even though PayPal confirmed that the payment was complete. I've sent a number of emails to AMS and even messaged them on facebook but I've never gotten a reply. Does anyone know what's going with them? Thanks!

Got an update from PayPal. Shipping label is being created. Strange though that AMS isn't responding to emails or facebook messages.

Probably a website update issue, quite a few of them going around right now.
Also, AMS has never been noted for their customer service, ethics, nor product quality anyway so IMO it sounds like business as usual more or less...

Well I've been trying to get some feedback from Z owners that have installed AMS mods. So far there haven't been that much. This is the first time I'm considering parts from them. So IYO DCaff, I should stay away from AMS?

I haven't used AMS because of negative feedback over the past 10 years concerning their use of Chinese knockoff parts and some questionable ethics issues in that area that I'm sure others can expand upon, combined with indifferent at best customer service.
To my knowledge AMS have not offered a product that cannot be found elsewhere at a similar price and better quality, and from a far more reputable source with superior customer service...so for me that is a good reason to shop elsewhere for Z32 parts, period.

Thanks for the heads up bro. All the parts I've used for my rebuild so far have come from Z1 or CPZ or SpecialtyZ, backed by some good advice from their tech guys. I was a bit shocked a week ago when I came across some of the prices on the AMS site. They seemed too good to be true. I'm glad I posted this here. Rebuilding a Z is no cheap task especially when you're shooting for HP upwards of 650-700RWHP. Knockoff parts will definitely cause a disturbance in the force.

No problem with my opinion and advise, that's what we're here for.
I've gotten SO much good advise and help and inspiration here and elsewhere over the years, it's great to help out those who are in the same shoes I was in years ago when I decided to work on my Z myself.
Be sure to post up your project when you can!

Yeah, no AMS on my car. Never will be. I'll support the innovators, not the knockoffs.

Thanks for the link. Here's what I don't get though. The disrepute concerning AMS knock-offs seems to well understood in the Z community. So why are CPZ and Z1 still pushing these parts? I remember Coz had that issue with the fuel-rails some time back but he realized he messed up. I mean, Coz, Nick, and Joel from Z1 are already to offer advice and help so why continue to sell parts from someone who is killing off innovators?

On a side note I'm really glad I became a NICO member. My Z has been collecting dust since 2011 (and I've had it way before that) so last year I took a nut-up or shut-up approach and decided to re-build it. I've been somewhat out of the loop wrt the best parts available but now I can firmly say that AMS will NOT be part of my project (which is nearing the end of it's first stage). Working on a Z is nothing short of a journey so it's good to know that members of the Z family have each other's backs. Cheers guys!

Your project is looking good man, and good decision with your project regarding parts preference.
I hate to bash anyone but also don't understand the logic with our better vendors also selling AMS, but it easily could be purely economics (make more sales or not) in today's no-regard style where anything goes until it doesn't- "that's just business, buddy".
I just make it a point to avoid such offenders whenever possible in life and just hope enough others do, too...

Yeah, it's all about "If we don't offer it, someone else will. Might as well get our hands in it too." Hate to see it that way, but it's just good business from a paper standpoint.
