Try finding the JL CleanSweep or the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty they use the speaker-level (speaker wire form the HU) inputs to obtain a signal and has line-level outputs (RCAs) to connect amplifiers. The JL CleanSweep will actually provide you with auxiliary inputs and flattens the frequency response of the stock (or aftermarket) headunit.

Even if you use an aftermarket attachment, it will never sound as good because there are no true preamps to give the sound the distinct quality or power that the amp needs to function correctly...

It's better to just spend the extra money and get yourself a good Clarion, Alpine or Pioneer headunit since I would NEVER suggest Sony, JVC, Dual, or anything else of that matter...

Plus, the sound will be supported on a much greater level for the highs and the lows to get the correct mix of sound.

I do this for a living, and no matter what I use, no matter how it gets adjusted, it never sounds even close to an aftermarket HU, You would be suprised how good my setup sounds for what it is, and how much was spent!!! Get yourself an Eclipse HU, and some new Eclipse PS6500, you will not be disappointed!!

Well all I'm saying is if he wants to keep the OEM HU and add an amp, either a LOC or a device like the CleanSweep will do fine.

If I'm gonna build a SQ machine, it's not gonna be a Versa...

well in the market there is nothing that allows u to use the steering wheel controls and the bluetooth....there is talk about a possible hu that will allow these features to be used, but as of now there isnt....i myself have the same problem, thats why i just bought the little unit that allows u to convert ur speakers cables from the stock stereo into rca's....and it may not sound like i want it to...but im suprised how gud it sounds....

There are 3 aftermarket HU's right now that allow bluetooth calling... the Sony MEX-BT2500, MEX-BT5000, and the Parrot CK5100 (also known as Rhythm n Blue). None of them allow integration with the steering wheel controls, mostly due to the controls being a non-standard type.

The Parrot and the high-end Sony allow integration of the phonebook, the low end Sony does not... it requires manually dialing the phone to place a call.

Given a year, I think most manufacturers will finally catch on and start making their own BT HU's. And maybe by then someone will have figured out how to make the steering wheel controls work correctly with an aftermarket deck.

I'm not sure Kimber is even reading this thread, so I'll pose the question in a new thread.
