ok. heres my situation.... a couple of months back my car got broken into and they took the radio, amp and my subs. Luckily, they didnt cut up the wiring.... so this afternoon i started installin my back-up system. I hooked everything up except these two wires: One goes from the radio to the amp its blue and says somthing like "remote on"... the other also goes from the radio to the amp but its the small purple wire that comes with the amp input monster cables. you know... the Left, Right, then this lil'wire.

i powered everything on but the amp doesnt come on... so it must be one of these two causing the problem.

Can one of you mad scientists please help me out

Your amp won't know to turn on unless that remote wire is hooked up.

To make any amp work you have to have your RCA cables, Power, Ground, and remote wire hooked up. Remote wire is the light blue wire very small gauge.

ok.... thanks man... i hooked up that wire and now the amp is on.

Round 2.

everything physically looks good to me but the amp is sending no signal to the subs...

there is this little light that reads "protect ind"... it goes on for about a second when the amp first turns off and then goes off... you think this might be the problem, and if it is.... can i have a way to solve it.

sorry... this amp was given to me by my brother so im clueless.

Post your setup, what kind of amp, etc. Are you running the subs in series or parallel?

either a bad ground or internal fault with the amp. it also may just come on as a test when you first power it on. if you not getting anything to your subs and your amp is on, make sure your RCA's and speaker wire are connected, and meter the sub(s) to make sure they arent blown.

the subs are ok.... i thought they might be bad too but i checked them. So the problem is at the amp... im gonna try grounding it somewhere else, if that doesnt solve the problem then the amp is just bad.
