I'm trying to run the power wire for my amp right now, and I'm having some trouble. I'm following these (http://s140.photobucket.com/al...wall/)directions, and I'm stuck at the part where I'm supposed to be poking through the rubber grommet. I've cut through the first layer of rubber, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get through the actual rubber/silicone that surrounds the bundle of wires. I've tried using a coat hangar and tried using a screwdriver but the combination of using a blunt object and poking around blindly isn't working. Anyone have any better ways of running the power wire? Or does anyone know how I can get through this grommet? Thanks.

Plasma torch joking of course.

When I ran my power wire, i didn't go through the drivers side. I actually went across the engine bay and knocked out a plug to get the wire through.

Yeah, I ended up doing AppleBonkers method and drilling out a hole behind the glove compartment. MUUUUCH easier. Where did you find a plug though?

Someone here posted it but I forgot who. The amp wire actually goes across the engine bay and turn in where there is a black piece of plastic over the strut tower. I tried reaching up and feel around for the damn thing but I couldn't tell which it was. When I shined a light from the engine bay you can see the plug. I simply took a long wooden dowel (1/2" dia) and placed it against the plug and knocked it out with a hammer.

Oh wow, I wish I saw that thread before. I had to drill a hole in the firewall haha. Oh well, what's done is done. I'll have pics up soon, it looks somewhat ghetto, but it's great. Single Alpine 12" Type-R wired at 2-ohms with 300w RMS per coil tuned to 34hz in a 1.75cf ported box. Flared port, so no port noise.

you dont need to drill anything it is so easy to find. Take out your glove box and look at the blueish factory lining on the right side you'll see a part that is cut / hale in it the rubber grommet it to the right of this and up about 1 inch. Just take a razor to the insulation and pull the grommet out with needle nose pliers cut a hole in the mid of the grommet and run your wire.

Thats it all done and no crappy looking drilling with mystery whats it gonna hit feeling.
