Hey guys. First off, thanks to Wes for the amp & sub write up. helped alot!!

Where can I tap into the amp turn lead on my 91 Q45? Can I go behind the head unit or can I tap into one the wires going into the rear amps?

Any help would be great!!

I'm not sure what Wes finally used, but I suggested to him to put a toggle switch up front and turn the amp off/on manually.

Maybe, he can let us know what he finally used.

The idea is great for the quick fix. However, I was always afraid I would forget to turn the switch off and drain the battery. I'm still hoping for a more dummy proof solution.

True, but I was thinking tapping into a switched 12 volt, so it wouldn't be "hot" unless the key was On.

You're right the "as it's supposed to be" solution is the best. IIRC, I suggested Wes find a 12 volt trigger off one of rear speaker san tap in there, not sure if he found on, or which wire it is/was.

Let me tell you what I did...

I did the toggle switch thingy.. It worked great..

I had a one year old battery in the car when it died... I would leave it on all the time... This sounds stupid, but i once left it on for 3 days sitting in my garage... Car cranked like it always does... IM convinced that the amp didnt hardly draw any power when it was just sitting...

There are 4 wires on the bose.. orange, yellow, purple, and black..... Im fairly certain the purple wire is the power wire.. Another clue is that it runs side by side to the black wire (ground)... Im fairly certain that the purple wire is power...

You can do some more testing to verify this..... However, when I hook my amp/sub thing back into this Q, im going to use what I used the first time... Just leave it on all the time.. I would flip it off when I remembered, but if I forgot it didnt matter... This sounds ghetto fabulous, and ill probably rig up something a little more "JDM tyte" next time, but you cant beat it...

The sub works very well with bose... A brand new bose system will make everyone but the most hardcore enthusiast happy... my bose was rebuilt and it is GOLDEN. With the sub, it will be enough for me... Youll just have to play with the settings so you can get it setup right...
