Yah yah. "Search the forums." Did. Nothing relevant. Anyway so we all know the Bose unit is weak. My 99 SE-L Maxima's was even better. (More powerful bass will dilute it.) Is there an easy way to tap into the factory sub/rear speakers to wire to the amp? 12v for "on/off" too?

You can do a lot of things....I'm just a little hazy on what you are doing.

You want to use an aftermarket amp to power all the speakers? just the 2 rears and sub?

Basically just use factory speakers, disconnect that cheesey rattley "sub" in the back window, and use an aftermarket AMP/SUB (XPLOD) - without having to do too much butchering to the factory wiring...

ok

ya, thats very simple

You can just remove the factory sub and clip the wires. I'd use electrical tape to make sure they dont ground.

There are a lot of AMPS that have speaker level inputs. You can hook that to either rear speaker(or hook it up to the factory sub that you are taking out) and the rest is just wiring the amp for power and hookin up the speaker to it.

For my setup, I used the rear seat side "subs" as the input for my MTX amp. Just get one that can accept speaker-level (high-level) inputs. Works great and I don't need an aftermarket EQ. I have some pics up in the members ride thread if your interested.

According to the wiring diagram for an 03 sedan, I'm seeing that you have the Bose amp and then a separate amp for the sub. I actually see 5 wires. I'm guessing the letters in the diagram correspond to wire colors so here it goes. G/W is the amp on/off lead, R is for something labeled B+, then W is input +, B is input -, and another B is ground. Those are the order of the wires from right to left in the diagram, but the input - wire is the inner of the B wires. Hope that helps. Here's a link to the diagram, its on page 14.
