I am running a 12 inch 500watt Xplode sub on a 500watt amp to my Pioneer DEH P5200 I can't for the life of me find a way from the battery into the inside of the car, presumably thru the dash, to then run under the carpet, and into the trunk spcae, to hook to the amp. Help would be appriceated. I would just run it under the car, and use those plastic ties to hold the cable to the chassis, but the car has OBX coilovers, and I can't reach under there, as well as I would rather have it out of the weather. Is there a place I can come in the dash, relitivly easily, or do I have to drill a hole in the passenger footwell, which I was planning as a last resort...

The last resort you are refering too is prob. your best bet, even though I found a hole on my s14 on the driver side firewall. Then I ran it back under the carpet through the pass. side. Good luck man

on the s14's you have to drill a hole on the <standing at front of car looking at engine> right hand side, midways between the brake booster and the engine...and down some. (well not exactly there, but you do have to drill, that's just the place I did mine) On s13's just follow the heater hose on the left hand side of the engine. That's my experience anyways.

I would use a bit designed for metal.(titanium) I did it with a normal bit to my ex gf's truck and it was a pain in the *** to drill the hole.

thnaks for the advise...whe I have some time..probably this weekend, I will look at my car and go over my options....I have an s13, and the following of the heater hose sounds good, if not, I will drill a hole.. I was planning on using metal bits, as I have had the same experience with my ex- prelude, trying to fix the sagging rear bumper...

on my s13, on the left side of the engine compartment i have 2 rubber plugs that i just cut a slit in and fed the wires through and it goes right to the passengers side feet my car has no AC so maybe thats is where the ac lines go into the seating area, on an AC car so maybe your holes are being used. not to sure but running my wires was the easiest thing i did in my car other then the front strut bar.

I think what you said about the A/C is true... I have an S13 with A/C and could not find a way through, so I found place on the passenger's side that went down into the wheelwell, removed the splash guard, routed it through the rubber surround for the power mirrors using a screw and string to make the hole and pull the wire in one shot. After that, I just ran it up under the dash and through the center... Kind of roundabout way maybe, but it worked and looks clean.

mine has to be the laziest way but a good one.. on my 91 240sx fb, i took and ran it from the battery, along the side of the hood, then ran it between my passenger door, and down through the paneling... simple but good, the wire is red and so is my car so it matches:thumbup:

I just cut a slit in the grommet where the main harness goes through the firewall. An 8 gauge will go through fairly easily. I'm running a 4 gauge now and it does fit but requires a bit of effort.

I did what C-Kwik did... I ran 4-gauge through the rubber plug that all the wires to the ECU go through. I had to use a knife to slit into the rubber to make it fit but once I did that it was easy. Run it through there and then you can pull up the door jambs and run the wire under the carpet pretty much all the way to the trunk.

hmm on my s13 there was an opening that was surrounded by rubber the power cord went right through there straight to the area under the dash of the pasenger side. I don't know why mine had this opening. I have a base model no A/C maybe thats it
