Ok, have to admit to a lack of knowledge on this.

My Series I 240Z has a +-45 Amp ammeter that has gone south. Looking for replacements, I see many are +- 60 Amp.

Did this change occur when they upgraded the alternator? What year?

I would bet it's a series 1 thing. I'm not even sure I still have mine, I think I switched to volt meter when I converted to a 90 amp internally regulated alternator. I ddo recall the series 1 using a different voltage regulator likely due to having a smaller alternator. I'd bet the series 2 got the larger 60 amp.

Thanks for the reply. Found a +-45 amp meter on Ebay the seller claims claim from a '73 240Z.
Maybe someone else will be able to expand on this.
