Hey everyone,

I was off running a few errands yesterday, when I saw a Ford GT, a new C6 Corvette, CTS-V, turbocharged SSR (not any kind of decent car, but the engine sounded sweet as hell), a Mustang, and a few other domestics . . . apparently, a bunch of GM, Ford, and Daimler-Chrysler guys were here doing an engineering presentation here, and they brought the cars along for show and tell. :-) No pictures or audio clips, unfortunately, but a few observations.

The GT : A little while ago, I think I remember someone else posted about seeing this car at their school. It was driven from Michigan here to Tech (some feat for a Ford, hehe), as was the C6 Vette . . . the Ford and GM guys were feueding predictably, but they were generally nice to all of us students. We all could sit in the GT, and generally obsess over it as much as we wanted; the car looked like a typical prototype (i.e. rough), but it had an amazing presence on the road. 315 MM wide rear tires . . . talk about aggressive. And the engine . . . you haven't lived until you've heard this sound. :-)

The Vette was less impressive, though it has covered 14,000 miles so far. Very nice interior, especially for a Chevy, but the engine note wasn't anything all that impressive. Almost too refined. Great looking car though . . .

Oh well, I just had a few minutes, figured I'd show you guys what you all missed, besides some crazy football games, hehe . . .

Oh, no kidding? I live in Miles, right off Washington Street . . . seen quite a few 240's around here too, heh. Mine is red, early S13 style, HKS exhuast (looks fairly close to stock in that aspect), and is stock in just about everything else (minus the new engine, hehe). Pics are at http://extranet.sessys.com:8800/images/240sx_pics/ and the best pic of it there is probably this one:

It doesn't have the black pinstripe any more, and it hasn't been washed since I got down here, but it sure loves a drive down Ellett Street. ;-) Got any pics of yours?

Nice, looks realllly clean =D Here's mine, sort of...I got t-boned over the summer and its in the shop, has been since...mid july I guess. Anyhow my dad bought a new Murano and I took over his 99 Maxima, so I've got to sell my 240, I'll be selling the rims seperately, they were almost brand new when I got hit, so very few miles on the tires, and only a couple scratches on one rim from the impact...argh makes me angry. I lived in Pritchard last year, and am in Tech Terrace this year, god apartment life owns Pritchard life, at least so far =D Hmph on second look I can't seem to find my old post containing the only pics I have of the car....its just your normal red 5 speed s13 base model *shrugs*. Here's the rims: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore...d=818In the second picture, they're the top left ones, 17x7.5 in the front, 17x8.5 in the back =D

Sorry about your car, sounds like it looked like mine. RIP S13. :-(

Love the wheels though, hehe . . . god they must look sweet on the car. How much are you looking to getting for 'em? Keep in mind I'm a poor college student, so I probably can't afford them right now, but if you are holding onto them for a while, I'll be working quite a bit over Christmas, hehe

Ahh, Pritchard, the fun stories and awful smells I've heard and smelled in there. ;-) Tech Terrace must be pretty sweet, I've been trying to attend as many apartment parties as possible on the weekends, though for some odd reason I can't remember if I've ever been there. ;-)

While I'm thinking of it, do you know of any NICO members around here? I haven't heard of any, or seen of any, but while I'm thinking of it, thought I'd ask . . .

Oh, and one more thing . . . there appears to be a sweet 240Z with a blown V8 in a house developement off Tech Center Drive. :-)

Hmms there's a good amount of parties over here, but its a small complex so that means like 2-3 a night...eh Pritchard's not thhhhhat bad, just depends on where you are, the first floor gets the gravitation effect and smells TERRIBLE. 4th floor was rocking last year and our hall was amazing, we paint up for most of the football games. I haven't really decided on the rims yet, but I'm thinking rims, tires, and kyokugen lug nuts for 1,000. I'd say less but they have less than 200 miles on them, cost 1,500 to start with, and if I remember correctly, aren't being produced by the same manufacturer anymore. *shrugs* We'll see, first thing's first, gotta get the 240 back and yank my sound system, which'll also be for sale, single 12" Adire Audio Shiva in a sealed box (absolutely ****ing gorgeous sound quality, loud but not set up for spl, but sql.) A kenwood mp3-cd player, and a jl single channel amp. We'll see what happens. Only NICO member I know of in the area is Tenkawa_Akito, but that's Roanoke, not sure of anyone actually on campus/in blacksburg.

Hehe I'd love a 240z, but I think I'm gonna hold out for a near mint black 300zx tt. We'll see I guess, thanks to the winters here, snowboarding gets more priority than fast cars for the moment.

That's not too bad . . . sadly, every apartment party I've been to has been busted up by the cops. Disappointing really, but the alcohol lasts a long time. ;-)

Yeah, the first floor always smells awful, not sure why. I might have been there Saturday night, couldn't tell you what dorm I was in, actually, but I think it was Pritchard. 3rd or 4th floor, really cool RA . . . whole bunch of us in the room drinking quite a bit, he just said keep it down, hehe. Good times.

$1,000 for the rims and everything doesn't sound bad at all; come January, when I get back from working, I'll see how much money I have and if you still have them . . . my car needs a little bit more flash, and a lot less gap. :-) If you want to sell them anyway . . . as for a stereo, see my sig, hehe. Not the greatest, but it gets the job done for now, the next step is CDT CL-61 components.

Winters are always a good time with the 240; I'm from New England, went through all of last winter with summers (Yoko AVS ES100's) on the car . . . more good times, as long as you're not driving like a moron; as an example, I saw a 4WD Blazer spin out on the same road I was on, just because he was driving like he would normally. As long as you go slow, and what-not, it's not a problem . . . if you're ever bored, hit me up on AIM sometime, SeanMP393 . . . always need more 240 people around, haha.
