Holy crap, nearly 8.5Ghz. Let's see what processor speeds are like in 5yrs. I have a feeling that will be done without super crazy cooling. Regrigerated liquid cooling maybe.

The only thing that pops into my head when I read that is condensation.... and electronics

Yeah good call. I forgot all about that. So what can people use to provide extra cooling beyond what liquid will provide? Put a peltier on the CPU then the water block on the peltier? I'm not into overc locking and don't look into the tricks people do.

Well I'm not sure but from the looks of it in the video they use some sort of expanding type cloth around the tube they used for nitrogen. My guess was as long as they are continuously pouring nitro in it will freeze any condensation that forms.

Ahh the former Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) team did it again. AMD really gained processor power when DEC sold off their Alpha processor development rights and the most of the high speed chip developers went to work for AMD.

Actually Derrick R. "Dirk" Meyer is/was the man behind the curtain that made it possible for AMD to leap ahead.
