Ambient temperature reading low

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Today for some odd reason my ambient temperature started reading about 15 degrees lower then it actually is. It was working fine up until today which is odd. I did wash and polish the car today..not sure if that could have affected it somehow but I doubt it. Any ideas? Unless it fixes itself I may have to bring it in

Seem back to nornal today, guessing it got wet when I washed the car. Still wonder if anyone else has noticed this, but good FYI.

doesn't really explain why the temp read is lower. Temp probe doesn't have a heat source like our body so water and wind will have no effect on it unless you have chilled water that is colder than the air spray onto the probe.

Well, he was washing his car so he was most likely using cold water, which will definitely be colder than the air. So when the probe got wet, it showed a lower reading because the cold water was affecting it.

It explains everything. And the fact that it went away after a while (after the water dried) proves it.
